When Kajal Magal was 10 years old, she wrote a story called Isosceles Jane for a 5th grade math class assignment . The story followed an isosceles triangle who felt like she didn't belong among her classmates because was shaped differently than everyone else. The story included key geometry terms and theorems.
Though created with a pure heart and secured a good grade - Isosceles Jane was gently put away in a box of school memories and forgotten for many years. Little did Kajal know, the character she created would wait patiently to go on to inspire children just like her, in the future. There was destined to be more to Isosceles Jane's story.
Two decades later, when Kajal's family moved out of her childhood home - her mother discovered the original purple construction paper bound story while unpacking a box. Her mother shared the book with friends and family, who adored the story and the characters. With the support of community - Isosceles Jane entered the modern age, as a digitally illustrated book.
Not long after Kajal published the book - she had a dream. This was not a metaphorical dream, but a literal sleeping vision where she was in a living room with a television. On the screen, there was a bubbly pastel looking scene featuring none other than, Isosceles Jane.
Kajal woke up energized and inspired! She had never really thought of this as an option, until then. She did not know how it was going to happen, where, when or with whom - but she hoped and knew that this dream would someday come to fruition.
Two more years passed, life went on - yet it unknowingly became time for Isosceles Jane to make the leap from shelf, to screen.
Kajal learned about an evening professional development bootcamp through her University work. Her intuition said "sign up, there is something to learn here!"
It was there, where she met Professor Seghal, an industry creative who helped her find a team of designers and animators to jump on board to bring Isosceles Jane off of the page and onto the geometric plane! Now Isosceles Jane isn't just a lonely girl in the geometric world, she has a universe of her own to play in, learn and grow with new friends, to explore endless possibilities, and to ask life's big questions.
Isosceles Jane has been waiting for 22 years to be seen. We hope you enjoy the show!
